Jake Risch, Editor, Reporter
Jake Risch is a senior at the Emery/Weiner school and a reporter and editor for the 9825. Jake has been with the 9825 for 2 years, starting as a student in the Journalism 1 class in 2019 and quickly moving up the ranks to become a reporter and most recently an editor at the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year. For those two years, Jake has been one of the leading political and hard news reporters for the 9825. He enjoys the indepth research and reading that comes with the task of reporting on pressing issues. As an editor, Jake piloted the creative writing program that brought stories from Emery’s creative writing class to the 9825 to be read by the community. Although his journalistic focus is on hard news, Jake plans to go to college to study marine biology and, in the future, become a researcher in the field. In his free time, Jake likes to read as often as he can and play guitar. He is very excited about the 9825’s potential and is looking forward to a great year for the paper.
